I'm moving ...

to all of my friends out there reading my blog. I'm not sure what's kept you around all of this time, but I'm moving to a new address. Really just so that I can have everything tied to one account. If I am a follower of your blog, I will be trying to make sure I am a follower from the new blog ... but if for some reason it doesn't happen, just follow me and I will make sure that I am following yours :)

2 weeks

We've been married for two full weeks now and we're just now getting settled into the house. Things are slowly settling down into something that resembles "life." We have a second bedroom (deemed the garage) filled to the brim with gifts (all equally wonderful), thank you notes have almost been finished (25 to go for the gifts we have so far), and we've officially hosted our first guest for dinner (though she didn't get to eat off of our china - it's still packed away in boxes).

Two weeks ago today was the best day of my life so far, and I remember moments from the day and evening that I stopped to look around and see what was going on. I remember where specific people sat in the ceremony, who smiled and waved as we walked down the aisle as husband and wife, and the kids that I hugged at the reception. There are so many details that unfold as I talk to various friends and family, and I'm sure a lot more will be revealed once we receive the photos and the video. But until then, I'm leaving you with very little about the wedding and skipping straight to the honeymoon in Aruba! More will come with details about the wedding after I receive the pictures from the photographer.

We honeymooned in Aruba. We checked out of "real life" for 6 days. No internet. No cell phones. Just us, Rob & me. It was fantastic. The flight to Aruba was questionable (there is only one flight out to Aruba from Charlotte and our connection almost didn't make it), but we arrived. The next morning began the fun of sunshine and 85 degree temperatures with a nice breeze blowing. We ate delicious food. Read several books. Completed a ton of crossword puzzles. Took Rob on his first snorkeling adventure (that included an open bar on a Pirate Ship and a rope swing). Watched many beautiful sunsets (one particularly fantastic one at the California Lighthouse). Chased lizards and birds away from our toes during our lunches outside. Sipped (guzzled) Amstel Brights on a daily basis. Floated in the ocean, while trying to avoid sun burn with 50 SPF.

I would highly recommend Aruba and the Marriott Stellaris to anyone considering going. It was a great experience with the hotel and staff, the on-site restaurants were fantastic (fish tacos!), and the pool was a ton of fun. We're back in Winston-Salem now, and it is far less grand than the atmosphere in Aruba, but we're together and settling into life from the honeymoon life. It's what's suppose to happen ... right?

Me floating (and getting sun burned :( )

Rob @ the Brazilian Steakhouse - delicious, but so much food!

just for KCar ... we used our koozies and love them!

Under our hut ... we had to reserve one of these every morning at 7 am to get a good one to protect ourselves from the hot sun ... SPF 50 was not even enough for me!

Our view on the beach most days ... it was gorgeous and wonderful!

We're back

So, little did we know we had no internet. Well, we could have paid for it but we didn't and it was fabulous to totally escape for 7 days. We're paying for it now with well over 200 emails and 514 unread blog posts. Will catch you all up to speed soon, but will most likely not be able to read the 514 posts nor respond to most comments.

Check out my FABULOUS photographers and the sneak preview they gave of our wedding:

I can't look at them enough (though I am biased, I know!) Thanks Kevin and Lauren for doing such a fantastic job!!!!

I've been tagged!

I was so happy to see that The Cape House tagged me in the Kreativ Blogger Award :)

The award rules are as follows:
List 7 things that you love, and then pass the award on to 7 bloggers that you love! Be sure to tag them and let them know that they have won. You can copy the picture of the award and paste it on your sidebar letting the whole world know...you are Kreativ!

7 Things that I love:

  1. This boy. Seriously, can not wait until March 28 so that we can be husband and wife :) He is taking Step 1 of the USMLE (med school boards) on Tuesday. Keep him in your prayers today and tomorrow so that he can feel prepared for the test and then recover quick enough to finish wedding things with me! Go Robst!
  2. UNC Chapel Hill and our Men's basketball team. Seriously, love. Best place on this earth to visit and enjoy - it's always like going home. We'll be cheering on the Heels over the wedding weekend - for sure watching the game Friday night (rehearsal dinner will end by 9:30 at the latest!).
  3. The Beach. Oh, it's the hardest part about getting married because I'll be livin 4 hours away from it. I'm so lucky to have grown up here and hope to move back for good one day :)
  4. Being creative. I don't do it much, but the wedding has been a great outlet. Getting to think creatively makes me so happy, especially when the end product turns out the way I imagined it.
  5. Shopping. I had to put this on the back burner recently, but love to shop (not so well for others). I love the moment one gets every so often where you just know that you have to have a purchase because the item was made for you. It glows, it shines, it screams your name ... yes I have had those moments. Fortunately my mom has been willing to purchase those in the past. Let's hope Robst will be willing to purchase in the future and that these moments stay at bay around twice a year :)
  6. Kids. Love them. They're so happy and fun and fearless and carefree.
  7. Freshly cleaned sheets. I know this is a weird one to leave you all on, but I am so excited to go to bed in my freshly cleaned sheets tonight!
There are so many more things that I love - these are just the top 7 on my mind right now :)

So I'm going to be lame and tag all of those that want to participate. I don't have enough time right now, but may get back to tagging some fabulous blogs later :) Happy Day loves!
